Julia Avnon

Julia Avnon – Counselling Psychologist

Julia is an experienced psychologist with specialist training in neurodevelopmental conditions, educational/cognitive assessments, mental health assessment and interventions and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches.  Julia is registered with the Health Professional Council (HPC) and Chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Julia has acquired her experience working and training in the NHS in a variety of services: Great Ormond Street Hospital, North East London Community Mental Health Team, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team at the University College Hospital and South West London and St George’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Learning Disability Service. I have also worked in several private settings: Capio Nightingale Hospital in London, Cygnet Hospital in Harrow, and The Child and Family Practice in London.

Julia works closely with a number of other highly skilled professionals with specific expertise in various areas, such as psychiatrists, neurodevelopmental psychiatrists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and paediatricians. I consider myself privileged to have a career that enables me to help children, young people, families and adults make positive changes in their lives and achieve emotional well- being.

Julia becme an associate of Futureminds in 2017 offering assessment and consultation for young people in residential care in the London and South East area.

Julia also sees private clients at her consulting rooms in London

In conjunction to other professionals, Julia also offers specialised assessments for neurodevelopmental difficulties such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and provide therapeutic support to children, adolescent’s families and adults affected by these conditions
